Digital Destinations Passport

Begin your journey into digital legal research and legal technology at the Harris County Law Library. Beginning July 18, visit the Law Library to travel through the world of legal research and visit several destinations around the library where law librarians with provide a tour of digital services available at our downtown Houston location on the Harris County courthouse campus. Learn about free access to nationwide legal research databases and automation software, free legal tech classes, and more! Earn stamps by visiting all of the digital destinations in the pages of your passport. Patrons who complete their passport can earn special access to the Legal Tech Assessment from Procertas. Inquire at the reference desk for details.

Access to professional legal resources on the go is essential for today’s practice. The Harris County Law Library now offers guest access on your personal digital device to Lexis eBooks via WiFi at the courthouse campus. Titles include Dorsaneo’s Texas Litigation Guide, Texas Transaction Guide, Texas Family Law Practice, Texas Evidentiary Foundations, Moore’s Federal Practice, Texas Civil Trial Guide, and more. Visit the Law Library to learn about new ebook offerings at the Law Library and earn a passport stamp today!


Digital Education Nook

Find on-demand video content at the Digital Education Nook. There’s a learning opportunity for everyone in the Nook collection, including legal tech training videos from the Law Library’s Legal Tech Institute, government law content from the Harris County Attorney’s Office, and self-help videos from the Texas Office of Court Administration. Attorneys can earn CLE credit by watching videos currently accredited by the State Bar of Texas. Visit the Law Library to learn about the Nook and earn your stamp.


Legal Tech Institute

Visit the Law Library Reference Desk to take a tour of the Legal Tech Institute website. Learn how to sign up for a free legal tech training session, earn Texas CLE with online, on-demand video content, or stay up to date with the latest legal tech news. The Legal Tech Institute now offers a free hands-on training session every Thursday at 2 p.m., so stop by, earn your stamp and stay for a free 1 hour CLE on the latest in legal tech.

The Harris County Law Library offers access to a wide variety of professional legal research databases for free to everyone within steps of the courthouse. One of our professional law librarians can give a brief tour of the digital tools available to all at the Law Library Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Did you know the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure contain specific requirements for the format of scanned documents? We do. Visit the Harris County Law Library Copy Center to earn this Digital Destinations Passport Stamp by learning about the Texas rules and standards associated with efiled documents and scanning services the Law Library offers in support of efiling in our local courts.
