The Harris County Law Library will celebrate the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta with an exhibit highlighting the myriad of ways this iconic document impacts the American legal system today. The exhibit will feature a 1763 print of Magna Carta, the same edition found on the library shelves of America's founding fathers.
Visit the Law Library on Law Day, May 1, 2015, when we will unveil the 1763 Magna Carta from our historical collection. The exhibit will trace the connection between the Law Library's Magna Carta and founding father, John Adams, as well the impact of the iconic document on the Texas legal system. The 1763 Magna Carta will be on display until June 15, 2015, which is the 800th anniversary of the day the original Magna Carta was negotiated at Runnymede, England.
