The Harris County Law Library is committed to providing free access to a comprehensive legal research and reference collection, in print and digital formats, and offering educational programs for all patrons.
The Harris County Law Library has more than 30,000 volumes of printed materials focusing on Texas and Federal Law. Major collections include Texas and Federal cases, statutes, and regulations, State Bar of Texas CLE materials, and topical treatises and practice guides. Please note: To ensure information is available to all patrons every day, law books cannot be checked out of the Harris County Law Library. Patrons who would like to conduct research should visit the Law Library, where they will find ample reading room.
Online research is essential in today's legal environment. The Harris County Law Library provides 25 public access computers that patrons can use for legal research. Each computer is equipped with Microsoft Word and Excel to assist with drafting and editing documents. Additionally, patrons have access to these professional legal research tools on all 25 computers:

Access to Law Library computers and electronic databases is free. Patrons who wish to print may select the print option to send documents to the Harris County Law Library Copy Center located inside the Law Library.
The Harris County Law Library Copy Center, located conveniently within the Law Library, provides document printing, copying, scanning, and faxing services for all library visitors. Currently, only cash payments are accepted.

Tours - The Harris County Law Library offers small group tours of our facility led by knowledgeable staff who can speak about the print and digital collections, reference services, productivity services, amenities, and programming at the Law Library.
Speaker Services - Our law librarians will also visit your bar association or community group to talk about legal research and resources at the Harris County Law Library. Community organizations may find the Community Education Services pamphlet a useful resource for planning your next educational event.
