Program Description: This is a virtual presentation that was originally recorded on February 17, 2022, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Harris County Robert W. Hainsworth Law Library in Houston, TX. The presentation contains a screening of the film ALTERNATIVE FACTS: The Lies of Executive Order 9066 which contains information leading up to and following the case of Korematsu v. The United States, 323 U.S. 214. Fred Toyosaburo Korematsu was an American civil rights activist who resisted the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. He was convicted of remaining in a portion of a military area from which persons of Japanese ancestry had been ordered excluded. Learn More.
