Program description: This comprehensive CLE course examines technology’s advances with AI, cloud based programs, use of e-discovery programs or vendors, and devices, attorneys have obligations under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct to continue to be competent in technology and this course discusses what that entails and how the obligation is fluid when technology continued to advance.

The course also shows some hands on changes to your iphone settings and discusses ways to also protect privileged information or to vet vendors. The course also discusses certain legal issues that come up in practice including: (1) pitfalls when someone dies and how technological and digital assets are addressed under the Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act; and (2) use of digital signatures under Texas Uniform Electronic Transactions Act.
