NCLC Resources for Informed and Careful Consumers

January 25, 2022 Heather Holmes
Rotten Lemon

The National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to facilitating “consumer justice and economic security for low-income and other disadvantaged people, including older adults, in the U.S.” Through policy analysis and advocacy, the NCLC works to “stop exploitative practices…and advance economic fairness” for financially stressed families. By drafting legislation, regulations, and model laws, the NCLC fights to ensure fair consumer practices, particularly in the areas of consumer sales and services, credit and debt collection, bankruptcy, fair housing, and student loans. NCLC is also engaged in a number of special projects that impact everyday consumers and low-income families struggling with domestic violence, disaster relief, racial injustice, unfair lending practices, unequal economic opportunity, energy insecurity, unfair housing, climate change inequality, and much more.

To learn more about NCLC’s advocacy efforts on behalf of American consumers, visit NCLC.org. Here you will find information about the Issues, Special Projects, Litigation and Consulting Services, Model Laws, and Educational Resources, for advocates and consumers, that make NCLC one of the primary consumer law advocacy organizations in the United States. Explore the NCLC Bookstore and Digital Library where you will find even more resources, including the Consumer Law Practice treatises. The print and digitized versions of these treatises will be available on-site at the Harris County Robert W. Hainsworth Law Library when the library reopens to the public.
