“We all belong here.” This statement encapsulates the message of empowerment shared by the contributing authors of Women in Law: Discovering the True Meaning of Success, an anthology of reflections by women lawyers describing what success means to them. The authors recount their personal journeys and the choices they made that placed them on their life’s path. These women offer advice, provide words of wisdom, and inspire others to dream, to excel, and to set their own goals. Whether it’s overcoming feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy or blazing a trail, confident in one’s own self-worth and competency, the emotions expressed and experiences related by these women lawyers are ones that can strike a chord with many women, no matter on which end of that spectrum they might fall. The recollections are stories of strength, fulfillment, hope, balance, love, and pride. The journeys themselves are varied, just as the women themselves are diverse, but the message is still the same: success is whatever you deem it to be.
