In December, the Law Library is featuring a number of self-help resources for self-represented litigants. Handbooks, research guides, and concise legal treatises will be on display in the library. Look for popular titles from these publishers:
National Consumer Law Center
Nolo
In a Nutshell series from West Academic
State Bar of Texas
Texas Young Lawyers Association
These resources cover a wide range of topics including: bankruptcy, consumer protection, criminal law, estate planning, family law, intellectual property, and more. The Legal Information Source database from EBSCO provides access to almost 300 self-help legal titles, which include downloadable forms, as well as legal forms by state. For additional information, go to our Remote Database Access page.
As always, the Law Library staff is happy to help you identify resources from our collection that will meet your legal needs. Please stop by the reference desk for assistance. You may also consult our Community Legal Resources guide where we’ve provided contact information for a variety of legal assistance organizations in the greater Houston area.
